Oh oh! Another thingie that suddenly struck me while watching Lost:
They are on a tropical island.
With research facilities.
And polar bears.
And there were an accident some years ago (I don’t know all the details, since I’m only on season 2 so far)

Right now, the Strawhats are on an island that used to be a tropical island. Before an accident.
There are research facilities.
And Trafalgar Law has a polar bear for a First Mate (and here I go with the theory that Caesar Clown have his crew locked up somewhere).
